My Home on the Upper Guadalupe
Hunt, Texas

A Hill Country
Retreat

Our wonderful hill country home was spared from "substantial damage" (term used by Kerr County Engineering Department) caused by the July 4, 2024 Flood. Even though we received some moisture on the floor, but had no water line anywhere, we remediated the entire house and replaced with new insulation, sheetrock, and paint.

We are located at 3200 Highway 39, about 7.5 miles west of Hunt, TX. Our section of the Upper Guadalupe River offers hours of recreation. It has areas for walking and exploring and an area about 4.5 feet deep for soaking, floating and playing. Parents and children especially enjoy a natural pool. It is private and does not have a swift current. The river is wider with less saw grass now. It will offer hours of fun recreation for young and old. The "new" river has plenty to offer, privacy, shallows as well as deep pools in which one can float and visit.

The house is approximately 1495 square feet, not including a large deck which faces the river. Three bedrooms include a master suite (queen) with its own walk in shower and two guest bedrooms (queen and full) with a Hollywood bath. The electric galley kitchen is open to the dining area and living area. The house has lots of natural light, central air, fiber based WiFi and a charcoal bbq pit.

We are offering a special for those who want to visit the Hunt, Texas area again. From now until February 28, 2026, our price per night is $250 plus tax. With this special you may reserve dates through June 30, 2026. A 50% nonrefundable down payment will be collected with the application. Pets will be an additional charge of $25 per pet per day.

On a warm November day, our guest enjoyed soaking in Horseshoe Hole.

Enjoy a morning cup or coffee or evening glass of wine...or both!

Morning View From Deck

Evening View From the Deck

The house, designed by architect Gerald Tackett, invites the beautiful natural light inside. Some persons are quite happy to watch the birds all day from the comfy couch!
